Almost caught up... kind of... It seems endless trying to catch up, but I'll get there.

I had a hell of a day today. Lots of travel and lots of drama. I had a 6:40am flight from Wellington to Sydney. Well, I got to the airport a bit before 5 because of needing to be there 90 minutes early. I try to check in, only to find they somehow dropped me from the Wellington to Sydney leg of the trip. So I spent nearly an hour at the service desk while the woman tried to get a supervisor. She made me make an international call on my cell phone to the airline (real nice...) only to wind up disconnected after dealing with horrible voice prompts that didn't understand me. Well, I finally get back on the flight list, go to check in a second time, and the woman at the desk tells me: you don't have a visa and you're in Australia 5 minutes longer than you can be on a transit visa. So, back over to the service desk to buy a visa. Check in again. Finally get checked in. By this time it's 6:20 and their at final bording for the flight.

So, I get to Australia. They tell me: they didn't put your middle name on your visa, so we have to change it, then the immigration people have to approve the change. So, I do that, wait, finally get my passport back, and go wait to get my luggage. Well, nobody told me that if your bags are checked through, in Sydney it isn't like LA. Of course, while I'm standing there waiting, I look at my passport and think: this isn't my writing... I got back the wrong entry form. So, find the immigration person and get the right form back.

Of course, it was raining in Sydney, so there was no point in leaving the airport. So I sat around for a few hours. Then I go through immigration to leave and get stopped and have to wait again while they're doing who knows what. I get to the international terminal, walk in circles for a few hours, see that the gate is finally empty and go to grab a seat. At that point anyone sitting there was told off because we couldn't sit there until the gate was open (e.g. their security is in place). So, moved somewhere else. Nobdoy told us the gate had opened, but I finally see people going in. I go in and get stopped for random back check. Eventually got on the flight at the rest of the flights were trauma free. It was just one hell of a long day!
